Although BBQ chicken originated in the Southeastern part of US yet it spread much like wild fire into other parts of the US. This also resulted in the four major styles of BBQ Chicken from Memphis, Carolinas (North and South), Kansas City and Texas. Each region having a characteristic style, sauce and ingredients used in BBQ chicken. For example the sauce used in South Carolina BBQ chicken is the gold sauce with mustard, vinegar, brown sugar and spices.
